Teaching since
I possess 23 years of experience in journalism, and content production, and 11 years of experience as a professor of journalism, writing, and journalistic genres, at the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
I am passionate about journalism and media. As a teacher, I draw from my experience as a reporter for 14 years for the newspaper Primera Hora, to give students the most effective tools to write and produce their news content.
I studied for my Bachelor´s Degree in Journalism at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus.
I did my Master´s Degree in Investigative Journalism at Florida International University, in Miami, Florida.
In 1998 I studied for a semester at the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores Monterrey México.
During my reporter days I received recognition from the Overseas Press Club and the Asociación de Periodistas de Puerto Rico.
While working for Primera Hora I wrote news related to crime, health, and social issues, but especially I became an expert in environmental issues. I attended the New York Times Institute on the Environment, in the Dominican Rebublic, in 2007, and the Scripps Howard Institute in Florida, that same year.
